On 27 October 2022, On Air joined 10cc at The New Theatre, Oxford for ‘The Ultimate Greatest Hits Tour’.

While backstage, we caught up with original member, co-lead singer and bassist Graham Gouldman for a quick-fire round of questions...

Q: How long have you been in 10cc?

Graham: From the beginning, when we started in 1972.

Q: Why did you start playing your instrument?

Graham: I fell in love with the guitar when I was about 11 years old. My cousin brought me one back from Spain. It changed my life.

Q: Favourite venue you've ever played in?

Q: Most memorable moment of your career?

Graham: When ‘For Your Love’, which was a song I wrote for The Yardbirds in 1965, went into the charts.

Q: What song do you wish you had written?

Graham: My God. Well, when the show finishes, we play the Jim Webb song ‘Wichita Lineman’. That is one of like a million songs I wish I'd have written.

Q: Do you have any pre-gig rituals?

Graham: Not really. I always brush my teeth, and you should too.

Q: What 10cc track would you play to someone who's never heard of 10cc before?

Graham: ‘The Dean and I’.

Q: If you were stuck in a lift with another member of 10cc who would you pick?

Graham: Kevin Godley from the old band and from the new band, I guess all of them.

Q: Most enjoyable 10cc song to play live?

Graham: ‘Dreadlock Holiday’.

Q: Best gig you've ever been to and why?

Graham: Well, I saw The Beatles in 1963, because it was The Beatles. Say no more.
