Stop Crying Your Heart Out (It Finally Happened)

Well guys, it finally, actually, truly has happened. Oasis have reunited on stage for the first time in almost 16 years, and for fans, it was more than worth the wait. Liam and Noel Gallagher shared a high five and the briefest of hugs as they closed a set packed with anthems and Manchester pride.

After their 2009 split, it looked like a reunion might never happen. The brothers traded jabs in interviews and, in Liam’s case, on social media. But on Friday 12 July, the band came back to their hometown for the first of five sold-out shows at Heaton Park, with more than 70,000 fans turning out to witness the moment.

On stage, Liam Gallagher dedicated D’You Know What I Mean? to “the greatest manager of all time, the one and only Pep Guardiola”. The shoutout was met with a few boos from United fans in the crowd, but most roared their approval. Noel later responded to the jeers with a grin, asking: “Who you f***ing booing?”

It’s not the first time the Gallaghers have shown their love for Pep. During an On Air exclusive concert stream with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds at Wythenshawe Park, Pep made another surprise appearance... this time in cardboard form.

This time during AKA... What a Life, which Noel dedicates to “all the Man City supporters” while pointing to a cardboard cutout of Pep that flashes up on screen. “That man is f***ing God,” he tells the crowd.
