Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds

About Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (NGHFB) rose from the ashes two years after Oasis called it quits in 2009. Formed as the solo brainchild of songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist Noel Gallagher, the English rock band consists of former Oasis members Gem Archer, Mike Rowe, and Chris Sharrock alongside former Zutons bassist Russell Pritchard.

Their first eponymous album (featuring singles ‘The Death of You and Me’, ‘AKA... What a Life!’, and ‘If I Had a Gun...’) received a double platinum certification in the UK after selling over 2.5 million copies worldwide. By the time their second album was due for release, NGHFB had already played a whopping 150 live shows in 32 countries. ‘Chasing Yesterday’ debuted in March 2015, followed by another 122 shows across 28 countries.

NGHFB live appearances continued throughout 2019, including tours of the USA and Australia with iconic rock bands Smashing Pumpkins and U2. The band recorded their Mercury-nominated studio album ‘Who Built The Moon?’ with renowned producer and composer David Holmes the same year, debuting at No.1 on the UK Albums Chart.

Noel Gallagher is famously renowned for challenging industry norms, notably releasing a series of critically acclaimed multi-genre EPs throughout 2019 and 2020. Celebrating a decade of NGHFB, the release of ‘Back The Way We Came: Vol 1 (2011– 2021)’ in June 2021 became the collective’s fourth consecutive No.1 album.

The following year, Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds embarked on a nationwide tour of outdoor shows, ending with a legendary set on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage. In 2023, the band released ‘Council Skies’ (spawning singles ‘Pretty Boy’, ‘Easy Now’, and ‘Council Skies’) and performed their biggest-ever solo headline show to 30,000 fans at Wythenshawe Park, Manchester.
