"When we started out, our first ever live show was in a back room of a pub in Camden, wasn't it?" Jordan North tells William Hanson in the opening scene of Help I Sexted My Boss LIVE from the London Palladium. The rest, as they say, is history.

The pair first crossed paths at BBC Radio 5 Live’s Manchester studios in 2010. North was doing work experience, and Hanson was there for an interview. A few months later, they bumped into each other at a house party and struck up an unlikely friendship.

Fast forward to 2018, Hanson and North channelled their shared sense of humour into launching Help I Sexted My Boss, a podcast inviting listeners to share their trickiest, and often risqué, dilemmas for the duo to try and solve.

In an interview for Buzz Magazine, Hanson recalled how the idea came about: "Our friend came up with the concept. He suggested going through a list of dilemmas and seeing how often we agreed or disagreed — probably a 50/50 split. Genuinely, we thought we’d do two series of 10 episodes, people would say 'oh, that’s nice,' and then we’d move on."

Instead, the podcast has grown to more than three million downloads a month. In 2021, Jordan and William embarked on a sold-out, 16-date live UK tour, solving listeners’ dilemmas in front of thousands of fans, better known as G&Divas.

Hanson (an etiquette expert from Bristol) and North (a radio presenter from Burnley), come from very different backgrounds, a contrast that has helped them reach a wider audience.

"A lot of podcasts are mainly listened to by middle-class people in metropolitan cities like London and Manchester," North said in a BBC interview. "What I'm proud of with Sexted is that it's a lot of working-class people listening too." Hanson adds: "The two sides are laughing in a respectful way at the other."

Never ones to take themselves too seriously, the pair are just as open about their own mishaps and childhood quirks.

In the same BBC feature, Jordan recalls being bathed in the kitchen sink by his mum as a child - something he assumed was completely normal. Meanwhile, Hanson shares a story about his parents buying a car specifically for their dog, Dido, which, at the time, also seemed ordinary to him.
