About Cypress Hill

Cypress Hill is a pioneering American hip-hop group formed in South Gate, California, in 1988. The founding lineup includes B-Real (Louis Freese), Sen Dog (Senen Reyes), and DJ Muggs (Lawrence Muggerud), with percussionist Eric Bobo (Eric Correa) joining later in their career.  

They are renowned for blending Latin influences with hip-hop, and their music often incorporates elements of rock and reggae. Their self-titled debut album in 1991 was a commercial success, and their 1993 album Black Sunday debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, featuring the hit single "Insane in the Brain."  

Cypress Hill has sold over 20 million albums worldwide and was the first Latino American hip-hop group to achieve platinum and multi-platinum status. They have been nominated for three Grammy Awards and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2019.
