On 28 March 2025, we delivered a cinematic livestream for Devin Townsend’s long-awaited rock-opera, 'The Moth'. This was watched by fans in real-time across our browser, smartphone, and TV apps simultaneously, and made available on demand instantly.    Filmed at SPOT Groningen, the performance featured a 70-piece orchestra and 60 choir members from Noord Nederlands Orkest. We worked closely with artist management Northern Music Company to bring the show to life and execute Devin’s creative vision for a global audience.

How did On Air achieve this?

We pulled out all the stops with a 10-camera professional setup, featuring state-of-the-art gear from Creative Bees and Walk In The Park to capture dynamic motion shots with cinematic flair. We also set up Waterbird Systems and a full crane rig to capture every sweeping view, angle, instrument, musician, prop, stage visual, plus Devin himself.

To do the music justice, we crafted a dedicated high-definition stereo mix that brought the live energy straight to fans speakers. And to top it off, the entire experience was streamed in 4K ultra-high definition, delivering every detail in cinematic clarity.

They say a picture speaks a thousand words. Luckily, we have a bunch of them. Here’s a glimpse behind the scenes.
