About Razorlight

Razorlight are an English indie rock band formed and led by vocalist and guitarist Johnny Borrell in 2002. The original lineup featured Swedish guitarist Björn Ågren, bassist Carl Dalemo, and drummer Christian Smith-Pancorvo, who was later replaced by Andy Burrows in 2004.

Their debut album, ‘Up All Night’ (2004), reached number three on the UK Albums Chart, featuring popular hits ‘Golden Touch’, ‘Rip It Up’, and on their 2005 reissued edition, ‘Somewhere Else’.

Razorlight’s self-titled second album followed in July 2006, spawning the chart-topping single ‘America’, which became their first number one hit in the UK. The early noughties marked the band's peak commercial success, leading to British Group and British Single of the Year nominations at the 2007 Brit Awards.

After a hiatus beginning in 2014, Razorlight reformed with a change in members and launched ‘Olympus Sleeping’ in 2018. Borrell, Ågren, Dalemo, and Burrows reunited in 2021, leading to their fifth studio album, ‘Planet Nowhere’, in 2024 - the first with the original lineup in 16 years.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of ‘Up All Night’, Razorlight announced a special performance at the O2 Academy Brixton in London on 21 November 2024. They also released a deluxe edition of the album, featuring 17 previously unreleased B-sides, and a mini-documentary titled Razorlight: Fall to Pieces, which offers a backstage glimpse into the band's journey during that era.
