Slash emerged in 1983 with the glam metal band Hollywood Rose before joining the hard rock legends Guns N’ Roses in 1985. The British-American musician rose to prominence as the lead guitarist, achieving success on albums such as ‘Appetite For Destruction’ and ‘GN’R Lies’ alongside playing the iconic riff in ‘Sweet Child o’ Mine’
After nearly a decade with the band, Slash formed the supergroup Slash’s Snakepit and left Guns N’ Roses amid growing tensions in 1996. Then, in 2002, he co-founded Velvet Revolver with vocalist Scott Weiland, and his success continued into the millennium.
Heavily influenced by metal, grunge, and alternative artists (such as Metallica, Alice in Chains, and Kid Rock), Slash has released a series of albums throughout his career. These include ‘Slash’ (which debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 in 2010), ‘Apocalyptic Love’ (2012), ‘World on Fire’ (2014), ‘Living the Dream’ (2018), ‘4’ (2022), and ‘Orgy of the Damned’ (2024) which featured star appearances from Iggy Pop, Beth Hart, Chris Stapleton, Demi Lovato and more. In 2016, Slash returned to Guns N’ Roses and continues to tour with the group worldwide.
Time magazine named the musician runner-up (to Jimi Hendrix) on their 2009 list of “The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players” while Rolling Stone included him in “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” in 2011. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
