About the conductor
Born in 1967 in Vienna, Johannes Vogel is a skilled percussionist, composer, and conductor who has worked with world-leading orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic, Bavarian State Opera, and Zurich Opera. He has also composed and produced pieces for film and TV, including MGM/Paramount’s Hercules and Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak.
Vogel has earned worldwide acclamation for his modern, revolutionary approach towards masterpieces from classical legends Beethoven, Dvořák, Mozart, and more.

Transforming the language of 19th century Romantic music, Antonin Dvořák was influenced by the folk traditions of Moravia and Bohemia in the Czech Republic, as well as the Native American and African American communities during his time as director of the National Conservatory of Music in New York City (1892-1895).
